Be Proud: A Cross-Generational Conversation
00:00 / 13:29

This short podcast combines that same archival tape of my Great Grandmothers survival of the Armenian genocide with an interview I conducted of my mother. Through this, I wanted to create a representation of the liveliness and perseverance of those survivors, and in addition create a document that could be found 50 years from now, which is how long it has been since the original interview was recorded.

Film Sound II: Experimental

Short film created under an assignment to use the SPACE plugin with a recorded impulse response. My intention was to create a liminal space based on the feeling of the environment: separated physically and emotionally from nearby hustle and bustle, but eternally connected. This uses a mix of sourced effects, location recordings, and generated signals. Audio mixed in ProTools, video in Premiere Pro.

Short film created as a development of a short film made in my undergraduate experimental film course (An Illusion of Means). Focused on the dynamic environment between fear and comfort, and the blurred lines for those who struggle with their mental health. This piece uses a mix of biological and mechanical sounds, with an underlying drone that aids in defining entry and departure from this space. From the Brain Volts lab at NU, I was given the recordings collected in a study I participated in— the Brain Keyboard Study. These recordings are the electrical responses of my own brain to different notes (FFR), which I then applied to a Midi keyboard in Logic Pro and used in combination with grand piano to build the drone and slight musical accompaniment. Audio mixed in ProTools, Audition, and Logic Pro, video in Premiere Pro.
